Quadkids

Quadkids is a fun combined event for primary school age children (years 3/4 and 5/6) aimed at promoting all round athletic ability. It is well aligned with the England Athletics policy of encouraging children to develop the fundamental movement skills that underpin athletics (and most other sports) rather than specialising on a single discipline. Participants complete a sprint (50m/75m), middle distance run (600m/800m), long jump and howler javelin throw. Just like pentathlon or decathlon, times and distances achieved are converted into points to determine placings and team scores.

The Leicestershire Quadkids League takes place at Saffron lane Stadium over 3 summer Friday evenings and now attracts around 200 young athletes from all of the county’s junior clubs.
