The Leicestershire Road Running League
The LRRL, which has been in existence for over 30 years, is one of the strongest in the country. Boasting 26 member clubs, it regularly attracts over 500 runners to the closed events that make up the Winter League programme. Each season usually encompasses 11 races divided between the closed Winter League and open Summer League. Teams, divided into 3 divisions, compete over the entire season. Individuals compete for Winter and Summer League titles, judged on their best four scores in each series.
The majority of Network clubs are members of LRRL and the two organisations work closely together to promote road running in the county. Network Coordinator John Skevington is LRRL Development Officer and Network Secretary Dave Lodwick is an ex-Chair.
